Kyoto Brewing Co
In 2005, Ben, Paul, and Chris met in Aomori and, driven by a desire to establish a diverse beer culture in Japan and to invigorate the domestic craft beer scene, they founded Kyoto Brewing in Minami Ward, Kyoto City in the spring of 2015 and began brewing their own unique beers.
Then, in 2024, James, who had experience brewing beer at a renowned American brewery as head brewer, joined the team. Since then, in addition to updating existing products, they have been actively pursuing new brewing methods and experimenting with new ingredients.
As we enter our second decade, we continue to pursue the unique flavor of Kyoto Brewing, starting with our signature product that combines Belgian yeast and modern hops, as well as beers that incorporate traditional secondary fermentation methods and sour ales that utilize the acidity of fruits. At the same time, we are actively investing in equipment and activities to improve the quality and taste of our beer, such as adding more cellar containers for maturation, introducing centrifugal separators and deaerated water production equipment, and directly purchasing imported hops, in order to perfect the way we make beer that only we can.
