Hop Idol Eggers Nelson - IPA

This time, the Hop Idol series will feature Nelson Sauvin, a hop particularly popular among craft beer fans. However, this time we've chosen not just any Nelson Sauvin, but one grown at Eggers Hop Farms.

With this Nelson Sauvin, we took a "Less is more" approach. Because hops possess not only bold and impressive flavors but also delicate and complex nuances, we didn't want to overdo the base beer and dilute Nelson's inherent charm. We adopted the West Coast IPA style, primarily using Northstar Pilsner malt with a small amount of wheat. This allows us to maintain a light color while achieving a moderate body and a crisp, dry finish. Pineapple passion yeast was used for fermentation, adding a very subtle layer of tropical esters on top of the hops.

I believe West Coast IPA is a truly excellent style that allows the individuality of the hops to be expressed directly without being interfered with by other elements such as hazyness. With a clean and simple profile, yet a hop flavor that makes you want another glass, it's a very drinkable beer that you won't tire of, and I'm sure Nelson fans will be very pleased.
