"Akasha’s founder, Dave Padden, fell in love with craft beer following numerous trips to the United States during his time as a successful sales and marketing executive. Watching the US craft market explode in the early 2000s, it became apparent to Dave that Australia lacked the hop-forward beers that had become so abundant in the States. In 2011, he determined it was time to change that, and embarked on a new career as a professional brewer – a decision that ultimately led to the launch of Akasha Brewing Co. in 2015, which quickly gained a cult following in the Sydney beer scene and around the country for its punchy IPAs and Pale Ales."
