A collaboration brew with Karu Distillery.
This is our second barrel aged collaboration with our good mates, and fellow Blue Mountains' locals, at Karu Distillery.
Ali and Nick generously provided us with freshly decanted Outcask rum barrels, which we filled with a deep bed of raisins before adding our imperial stout base and resealing. Guests to our taprooms would have seen these barrels resting in the nooks and crannies where they've sat quietly over the last 12 months, infusing their magic.
And magic is what we got. This complex stout is the epitome of decadence with a creamy body, rich chocolate and raisin notes complemented by hints of vanilla, apricot, coconut and oak gifted by the rum-soaked barrels.
