In a small brewery in a quaint suburb in eastern Melbourne, a group of extremely talented employees sat around a table, trying to come up with the perfect name for their newest brew - a lime and ginger gose. They sat in silence, staring blankly at each other, before one piped up. “Puns ‘n’ Goses?” they suggested. The group groaned in unison, and another chimed in, “Stop And Smell The Gose?”. More groans ensued.
The team continued to throw out bad pun after another. "Gose to the Beach", "Gose to the Head", "Gose for Gold"...the list went on and on. Just when they were about to give up hope, another spoke up. They sat in silence for a moment, quietly contemplating. It wasn't the funniest pun they had heard, nor was it the most original. But really, what's in a name? That which we call a gose by any other name should taste as sour, after all.
